Adults
We also see adults that are having problems in their lives. We see adults that might be struggling with divorce, loss of a loved one or spouse, feeling anxious, depressed or just lost. Sometime adults feel trapped or stuck in their lives and we help them sort out those feelings. We help by working of reducing negative behaviors and selecting healthy alternatives. We have worked with adults that have been hurt as children, use drugs or alcohol to cope or maybe are fighting so much with their spouse that they forgot why they married in the first place. CCS therapists are great listeners who us their training and experience to help. If this sound like any of your struggles call us and lets; start to help you feel better and more in control.
Children
Sometimes children need a little more attention when have been hurt or feel confused. The language of children includes play and we know how to play! We use a variety of methods to assess the safety and well being of your child and even through it looks like play it is work. Therapy for children can include toys, puppets, art, sand tray, cards or games. Children are expressing their needs, fears, hurts and joys through their play. Our therapists use these tools to increase confidence, mental wellness and self-respect and to reduce guilt, shame, anxiety and depression with your child.
Teens are treated differently in that they “are too old” to play (so they say). Therapist that work with teens use talk therapy and expressive art to work with teen to reduce the negative thoughts, hurts or relationships problems. Other behaviors that these therapist work on is confidence, mental wellness and life skills. Teens often feel that no one understands them, but our therapists do, and they find a way in and build that positive relationship with your teen.
Parenting and Co-parenting Classes
Sometimes we need a little help understanding our children especially of our childhood we a bit hard. Why don’t children come with manuals and do what we say? How do we get their cooperation with out spanking or being punitive? Occasionally, our children do or say something that we have no idea what do next. Sometime that thing is dangerous, or scary or other times our child with stop speaking or isolate in their room. What do we do as parents? Our therapists can help with that we offer 4- and 6-week parenting classes that have previously been accepted by CPS, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego Courts (Family Law). If you need a little assistance give us a call.
Co-parenting class are also offered, and the focus is on the child and having a working relationship with the other parent. We work on parenting plans, discuss respect and house rules and almost everything else. Our comprehensive classes are in a 4-week format but can be extended as necessary. Because we find having a group of parents works best for our parents and ultimately the child we have set groups up monthly. If the court is asking for more weeks or hours we can make that arrangement as necessary.
